THE STORY

Beautiful bride Maria, smiling from 6am on the morning of the wedding to the last step on the dance floor. Maria and Adam held their wedding in their home town of Whitby, an intimate ceremony in the stunning Robin Hoods Bay where Maria went to school. The sweet church set on the hill is nothing short of picture-perfect overlooking the stunning bay and rolling hills.

We worked with Maria over many months to design and create a vintage country garden theme with a few surprises too. The setting, the grounds of her family’s home on the edge of the river Esk.  The week prior to the wedding we transformed the garden and adjoining fields with lavish marquees, afternoon tea tents, summer houses and a water wheel.

As guests entered the wedding space, a string quartet played on the upper terrace, a lavish champagne reception on the lawn and river bank dressed with ribbon trees. Fine dining in the large marquee dressed by The Unconventional Florist team, with lace, floating lanterns, vintage birdcages, bikes and rustic woods all finished with handmade jellies and chutneys as favours.

Live music and laughter filled the air all day long, until the sunset and the party started…the first dance WOW it brought everyone to tears, secretly rehearsed Maria and Adam floated around the dancefloor… and with the boatshed transformed into Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory filled with traditional sweets, popcorn and candy floss the fireworks started to fly and light up the night sky.

Breakfast before bed with fresh bacon sandwiches, family and friends partied all night long…
