Hill Of Tarvit - The Love Story
Oli and Rachel's wedding was a stunning blend of history and modernity, set against the backdrop of Scotland's oldest university and a luxurious country estate. The couple, both alumni of St Andrews University, chose the iconic St Salvator's Chapel for their ceremony. Founded in 1450, this late gothic architectural gem provided a breathtaking setting that set the tone for their lavish celebration
Following the ceremony, guests were transported via executive coaches from the quaint town of St Andrews to the historical Hill of Tarvit estate. This 20th-century mansion house and gardens in Fife, designed by Sir Robert Lorimer and owned by the National Trust for Scotland, served as the exclusive venue for their reception.
The couple envisioned a contemporary contrast to the historical location, opting for a glass roof marquee that brought the outdoors in. This modern chic aesthetic was further enhanced by over 200 meters of greenery, creating a stunning visual impact. The design incorporated fresh white linen with denim blue accents, while Oli, a surfing pro, added a personal touch by creating table names printed on mini surfboards and using an old surfboard for the order of the day.
Culinary delights were a focal point of the celebration, with James Burton, a finalist from MasterChef: The Professionals, and his team crafted a modern menu featuring fine dining experiences. Guests indulged in food delicacies and we even had the famous Scottish palm- ham and oyster man, elevating the gastronomic experience and adding entertainment.
This extraordinary wedding was the result of meticulous planning and execution. Five days to build the bespoke setup, with the added challenge of navigating a heatwave. The wedding seamlessly blended vision for a luxury modern celebration. The result was an uber-chic event that harmoniously combined historical charm with contemporary elegance, creating an unforgettable experience for the couple and their guests.
