Harry Potter fans may recognise this stunning backdrop of the quidditch lawn and grounds of Hogwarts. We are the only team of independent planners to secure Alnwick Castle and Gardens for exclusive use - yes we closed the whole site to the public for a whole wedding weekend in July. You may also recognise some famous backdrops within our real wedding portfolio, from tv shows The Paradise, George Gently, and The Dumping Ground just to name a few.

Hello, I'm Donna (She/her), the founder and lead wedding planner at North East Wedding Planners.
If you’re looking for a laid back completely unique wedding infused with fabulous food, live music and fire cracking atmosphere– then you are in the right place.
The way I work is intuitive and experience led. I'm passionate about creating authentic wedding celebrations that reflect my couple's personality, humour and lifestyle. I have a very hands on attitude, always in my hunter wellies, and a cup of tea is never far away...
My background is a little unique, for many years I navigated the hospitality sector obtaining valuable experience before moving onto more operational roles within senior project management roles on-behalf of the Government and private sector.
In 2007 I'd had enough of the corporate rat race and I took a huge leap of faith launching North East Wedding Planners, a bespoke wedding management service, a creative space where I can blend my knowledge, experience and more importantly passion for rural landscapes and alternative wedding design. I bring an edgy approach to planning out of the box weddings.... nothing I create is ordinary...
